Aging of the population, metropolisation, the persistence of "urban ghettos", changes in the tempo of life, sedentarisation or new forms of nomadism: major demographic changes are taking place in our cities. Urban planning policies need to take the socio-demographic profile and aspirations of their residents into account to avoid transforming urban spaces into drivers of social exclusion.
