Senior Research Manager
La Fabrique de la Cité
Raphaël Languillon is a senior research manager at La Fabrique de la Cité, that he joined in April 2019, and senior lecturer at the University of Geneva.
In addition to various consulting missions, he has previously taught at five universities in France (Lyon 2, Nantes, Rouen and Perpignan universities) and in Japan (Chuo University). Specialist in the evolution of the relations between capitalist regimes and urbanization dynamics, he has acquired expertise in the study of smart cities, aging, and Olympic projects.
Normalienand agrégé, Raphael got a PhD in geography and urban planning. In parallel, he is a graduate of Japanese language and civilization at Sciences Po Lyon, and of history at Lyon 2 University, and he has also studied sociology at the University of Tokyo and public politics at Chuo University, in Japan. Former fellow of the Palladio Foundation and the Schmidheiny Foundation for his research in real estate, he is an alumnus of the Center for Olympic Studies, the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for foreign scholars, and the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Sciences. He published in 2018 a book entitled Les Japonais, lignes de vie d’un Peupleat the Atelier Henry Dougier.
