Camille DEFARD

Camille Defard has been Director of Studies at La Fabrique de la Cité since April 2026.

A graduate of Paris-Dauphine University, Sciences Po, and Paris-Saclay University in energy economics, she is a specialist in public energy and climate policy.

She previously spent four years at the Jacques Delors Institute, a European think tank, where she served as Head of the Energy Center and a researcher in energy policy. There, she led a team of researchers, managed several Horizon research projects, and produced numerous studies on the Green Deal, covering in particular energy renovation, industrial challenges related to critical materials, financing, governance, and the conditions for a just transition.

Camille Defard has also worked for the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance (Directorate General of the Treasury) on sustainable development issues in East Africa, and in the private sector, in the financing of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. She began her career at EDF.

At La Fabrique de la Cité, she helps shed light on regional transformations by integrating public policy analysis, economic dynamics, and socio-technical innovation challenges.
