Yo Kaminagai: Stations of the future, a new urban paradigm?

As part of the project “Stations of the Future”, led by La Fabrique de la Cité in partnership with the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS Institute), Yo Kaminagai, Head of Design at RATP, describes the future role of stations of tomorrow. The Grand Paris Express project, and the construction of more than 68 new stations in the Paris region, is an open-air laboratory for this transformation. The station goes well beyond its operational functions: it is now as much an object of mobility as an urban object which it is necessary to consider as such.
