How are smart cities changing the way we live and work in the city?

In the 90s and 2000s, digital has fueled numbers of fantasies in the city. Virtual reality, telecommuting, videoconferencing, social networks are all technologies and societal transformations that digital technology has to bring by creating a brand new virtual space. If predictions built in the 90s presaged that digital would abolish the physical space for the benefit of this new virtual space, it is clear that our need for physical space has not decreased. Quite the contrary.
